Boozhoo Parents/Guardians!

As part of this year’s Gaagagekiizhik Elementary School programming, your child’s class will be participating in weekly lessons run by a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and occupational therapist (OT) from Kenora Chiefs Advisory/FIREFLY.

These lessons will take place on Wednesdays in your child’s classroom.

The COVID-19 pandemic meant that many children missed valuable learning time in the classroom. These SLP/OT lessons will support the development of your child’s speech sounds, conversation skills, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills. Additionally, they will provide the SLP and OT with time to observe your child and their class in order to identify areas of increased need. Should your child be identified as needing extra support in any of these areas, you may be contacted by school staff to determine whether this is a priority for your family.

Participation in these weekly lessons is voluntary. If you would prefer NOT to have your child participate in these programs, please return the signed form to the school. The following letter and form have been sent home with your child on Friday, September 16, 2022.

The form can also be found and downloaded below.
