Boozhoo, Dear Parents and Guardians of Gaagagekiizhik School & Bimose Community High School Students:
Recently, we have seen a rise in Covid-19 cases in our communities, region, and our school community. Out of an abundance of caution, the Gaagaekiizhik School has decided to move into “Remote Learning” in order to curb the potential transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Gaagagekiizhik School will be closed from Monday, April 4, 202 through Friday, April 8, 2022 and students will be “Learning from Home”.
Our school will be providing work packages and online classrooms, as practiced during past “Remote Learning” periods, for students to complete for the week April 4-8, 2022. Work Packages will be ready for delivery, or pick up at the school, on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Please make arrangements with the student’s teacher regarding delivery or pick-up. These resources will be accessible for students to ensure continuity of learning. Teachers’ will be contacting parents, and guardians, personally via email or telephone, to ensure all families are aware of remote learning for students, next week, and to convey instructions and expectations regarding packages and classroom links.
While your student(s) remains home, we encourage you to continue practicing Covid-19 precautionary measures and practicing good hygiene, which includes:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing.
Virus symptoms can range from mild to severe and could include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Please contact our local Northwestern Health Unit for Covid-19 list of symptoms and precautionary measures.
